Net of Dreams

Sophie had big plans. She wouldn't always live this way; no, she knew that one day, her ship would come in, and she'd get on it and sail away. She preferred to think about that day than to think about this one; today had most definitely not been a day out of her dreams.

She worked hard; she really did. But that didn't seem to matter to her boss; to him, she was a convenient whipping-girl. Whatever went wrong, it was somehow her fault; today, she'd been blamed for something that went wrong in a meeting that she hadn't even attended. She'd just stood there, mouth agape, listening to him rant. Getting through the rest of the day had been hard.

But she was home now; home alone, with her own thoughts and dreams.
